Dr. Joseph Koskey

Executive Director

Joseph holds a PhD in Business Administration, MBA (Strategic Management) and Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) degrees from the University of Nairobi. He is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Investment and Financial Analyst, Certified Secretary, Certified trainer on corporate governance and a member of the institute of Directors Kenya. Joseph has over 31 years business management experience gained in diverse industries, 24 years of which have been in senior leadership and management positions.  He has a distinguished leadership career with a proven track-record of achievements (both in the private and public sectors) in revenue growth, productivity improvement, operational excellence and bottom-line turnaround.  He is respected for a strong work-ethic and irreproachable integrity. Joseph previously served as the Group CEO at Sovereign Group Ltd, Managing Director at the Kenya Bureau of Standards and also as Managing Director at Urgent Cargo Handling Ltd among others. He has also served as the Regional Change Manager for P&O Nedlloyd East Africa and Indian Ocean Islands covering Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Mauritius, Madagascar & Seychelles. His experience at private, public and multinational set ups has enabled him to attain invaluable skills, experience and expertise in leading and managing as well as interacting with diverse multicultural teams across borders within East Africa, South East Asia and Europe.

Dr. Bernard Kirui

Director, Transactions Services

Dr. Bernard Kirui holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Nairobi, a Master's degree in Economics, and a Bachelor's in Economics and Statistics from Kenyatta University. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK).

Prior to joining the Commission, Dr. Kirui held various management roles at the Kenya Revenue Authority as Manager in charge of Surveys and Business Analysis and as a Manager in charge of Strategy and Policy Analysis. He was responsible for coordinating the preparation of key tax policy documents, overseeing financial analysis, providing technical support, monitoring tax policy developments and stakeholder engagement.

Prior to joining the KRA, Dr. Kirui worked as a Part-Time Lecturer at the National Youth Service and in various roles at the Co-operative Bank of Kenya. He also worked as a Part-Time Lecturer for International Trade and Economics at Moi University, Nairobi Campus. Dr. Kirui was also a CSAE Visiting Fellow at the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom, where he worked on his research.

 

Ms. Donna Atieno

Director, Corporate Services

Ms. Donna holds a Master of Science in Development Finance from Strathmore University and a Master of Business Administration (Finance) from Kenya Methodist University. She also graduated from Moi University with a Bachelor of Business Management (Accounting) degree and is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA-K)  registered with the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK). She is also a Certified Retirement Benefits Trustee.

Donna has over 15 years of experience in Public Service, more than half of which have been in a senior management role. She is a strategic leader with vast experience in public financial management; public sector financial reporting; project appraisal, profiling, and risk analysis; government policies and guidelines in human resource management and administration; and pension administration.

Ms. Irene Kamunge

Corporation Secretary & Director, Legal Services

Ms. Irene Kamunge holds a Master of Laws (LL.M) degree and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree from the University of Nairobi. She is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a Certified Public Secretary.

Irene has worked in various sectors for over 15 years and gained vast knowledge in managing and coordinating governance projects and programmes, drafting and negotiating agreements, litigating matters in judicial and quasi-judicial forums, legal research, legal education and corporate governance.   Irene was at the forefront of implementing the ban on plastic carrier bags in Kenya

Mr. Sylvester Kamau

Manager, Supply Chain Management

Sylvester holds a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Procurement and Logistics from the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology and a CIPS post graduate professional diploma in Procurement and Supply. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government and Public Administration from Moi University. He is a registered and licensed member of the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management. Sylvester has over 20 years’ experience in Supply Chain Management having worked for various organizations in different capacities and also has vast knowledge in public procurement. He is currently pursuing his Doctor of Philosophy degree in Supply Chain Management from the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology and is working on his dissertation having finished the coursework successfully.

Mr. Clive Kinoti Njiru

Manager, Internal Audit

Clive holds a Master of Commerce in Finance from Strathmore University and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Business Studies from Kenyatta University. He is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK), Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), and Institute of Certified Investment and Financial Analysts (CIFA). 

He has over fifteen (15) years of experience in Governance, Risk Management, and Compliance. Before joining the Commission, Clive held several Senior Management positions at East African Portland Cement Plc and the Ministry of Co-operatives and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Development.

Ms. Jemimah Muraya

Manager, Research & Planning

Ms. Jemimah Muraya is a statistician by profession who holds a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Social Statistics from the University of Nairobi. She has a  Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Statistics from Maseno University and is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration degree (Strategic Management) in USIU-A.

Prior to joining the Commission, Ms. Jemimah held various management roles including Manager Research, Strategy and Planning at Tana Water Works Development Agency and Research and Policy Manager at the NGOs Co-ordination Board. She has a vast experience in Research, Data Management, Strategic Planning, Performance Management, Quality Management Systems, Monitoring, and Evaluation drawn from over 14 years of experience with several public sector organizations.
